Our National Chaplain will be informed so they can offer support and get the news out through the Mentors magazine and other sources to the members of our national organization.

OBITUARIES

Vermont JCI Senator Coleman "Coley" Coyne #17785 passed away December 31, 2009 in Burlington, VT. Visiting hours were Tuesday January 5th, 2010 from 4-7 PM at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, Winooski, VT. The funeral was Wednesday Jan 6th, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the same address. He is survived by his wife Paula, several children and grandchildren.

Marion Reed, the mother of Richard Reed # 23553, passed away in St. Johnsbury, VT on Wednesday January 6, 2010. There were no calling hours. The funeral was held Sunday January 10, 2010 at the Danville Congregational Church at 2:00 PM. After the service, refreshments were served downstairs. Benjamin C. Stein #2396 passed away at the Arbors in Shelburne, VT on January 19, 2010. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy. Ben was a past president of the Vermont Jaycees. He was president in 1958-59.

Ben's funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22 in Ohavi Zedek Synagogue, 188 N. Prospect St., Burlington with Rabbi Joshua Chasan officiating. Interment will follow in Hebrew Holy Society Cemetery, Patchen Rd., S. Burlington. Shivah Services will be Sunday, January 24, 2010, at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., at Ohavi Zedek. Shivah visiting hours will be Sunday, January 24, 2010, noon to 4 p.m. at the home of Susan Saferstein, 36 Pheasant Way, S. Burlington. Donations in Ben's memory may be made to the Vermont Nature Conservancy, ACLU, or Ohavi Zedek Synagogue. Preparation rites were by the Jewish Sacred Society.

Robert Paul "Robbie" Beams, son of Leonard # 20341 and Carol (Mackay) Beams died in the Vermont Respite House on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010 following a brief illness. Remembrance will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the parish hall of the Shelburne United Methodist Church, Church St., Shelburne. Burial will be in Shelburne Village Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
